Refresher / ReActivate
Want to update and refresh your Scuba skills?
The Refresher course lets you update and practice your dive skills and knowledge before jumping back into the water. Whether you want a few reminders or need to go over the basics, we've got you covered.
The “Refresher” program includes the following, and usually takes 2 to 3 hours in our warm and comfortable pool.
- A brief review of the theory of diving, including items for planning, safety, and the physics of diving, such a pressures. This starts with a quiz (that you don’t have to study for) to identify areas to review, and progresses to a discussion of any areas of knowledge that need refreshing.
- We then review how to set up up scuba gear, check all of the equipment for safety, and do a buddy check.
- After that, we jump in the pool. We’ll head under water and practice and review everything thing that you’d like to review. The instructor will have a list of safety-related skills that he or she will recommend, such as practicing out-of-air scenarios and oral inflation of your BCD.
- Once you’re comfortable, we’ll review disassembling and cleaning the gear, and the instructor will sign your log book, so you have a record of the refresher.
You can optionally add on the PADI ReActivate ELearning. Using a computer or mobile device, watch videos of how to perform basic scuba skills and review dive planning and safety procedures. With this option, you get also a PADI Digital ReActivate certification.
