Because Adventure Sports is a swim school and dive shop we are fortunate enough to understand the plight of divers with kids, and we believe we have found a solution to this problem. We have organized a trip that is perfect for everyone, divers, snorkelers, adults and kids of all ages, in the beautiful paradise that is Roatan one of the Bay Islands of Honduras. This trip is great for everyone, weather you are a couple looking for a great inexpensive dive trip or a family looking for a vacation that everyone can enjoy.
The Bay Islands are nestled in the southwest corner of the Caribbean, about 48 kilometers/30 miles north of Honduras. The outstanding reef systems draw divers from all over the world and the islands have become a veritable hive of dive activity. Part of the second largest barrier reef in the world, the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the islands of Roatan feature vibrant coral, multicolored tropical fish, sponges as big as refrigerators and pelagic species such as manta rays, sea turtles and, especially from mid-February to April, whale sharks.
For Families considering this trip Anthony’s Key Resort offers the Dolphin Scuba Kids Camp, this program provides various activities for kids that aren’t able to join their parents diving. ASU will also Provide Child care services and activities while on the trip.
Our popular Dolphin Scuba Summer Camp offers parents a great alternative to leaving the kids at home! During the week, children ages 5 to 14 will interact with bottlenose dolphins through various encounters, feeding and training sessions. They’ll also be exposed to diving & snorkeling skills in keeping with their age and skill level. Oceanside discussions, short classroom sessions, snorkeling trips and other outdoor activities will give your child a real appreciation for the ocean, marine life and our environment in general.
Our experienced RIMS staff, and the PADI professionals from AKR’s Scuba School, are the camp instructors. Campers join parents for lunch daily, and parents are always welcome to observe and participate in most activities.
