Family SCUBA Certification

The Monterey Bay is rich in environmental treasures and the aquatic
wonders of the bay are a wonderful gift for our children. The Family
SCUBA Certification introduces families to the techniques of skin
and SCUBA diving through the PADI certification program. We will
meet in our heated pool to explore the equipment and skills used
in there sports. SCUBA gear, underwater cameras/video and aquatic
games are just some of the tools we use to make this a fun and educational
experience. At the end of each session an optimal outing for the
whole family will be planned to experience the new skills in the
open ocean. |
Requirements:
Children and parents who want to participate must be comfortable
enough in the water to be able to swim 200 yards and trend water
for 10 minutes. Minimum age is 10 years old.
Days to Meet:
Classes are on Saturdays and Sundays over the course of three
consecutive weekends. Parents or guardians must meet with their
children on the first meeting of the class to watch an introductory
video and fill out forms.
Dates:
TBA, most likely July 2010
Class Size:
Class minimum is 4 and maximum of 8. Adventure Sports reserves
the right to cancel any class if the class minimum is not met.
Cost:
The class cost is $170 for instruction, $200 for rentals and
books (the PADI Open Water Crewpak). We will reduce the rental
fee by $60 with a $200 gear purchase. Any dives done off a boat
are $85/person for 2 dives.
Student Supplies:
